University Work

Creative Media Project

For my final year at University, I wanted to expand my skills with 3D modelling. So I decided  to make a low poly, game ready character with a fantasy theme. I wanted the character to be draped in detailed garments, holding the air of wonder and mystery around them. I started off with making concepts of the designs before sticking to one and drawing the layers of clothes on, to help me with modelling.

Altogether, the character is almost 13,000 polys and I used the following programs to create the finished images:
- Zbrush for the high poly sculpt
-3DS Max for the low poly sculpt and animations
-Substance Painter for the texturing
-Marmoset tool bag for the final scene
-Camtasia for recording in scene and film editing

Zbrush Head Sculpt

To help improve realism in my work, I decided to do a face sculpt study, based on the actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. I created this piece in Zbrush and rendered these screenshots within Marmoset Toolbag.

Here is the final render spin on Youtube, as well as a progress gif, showing the process of my sculpting.

Unity animation scene

Anchor 3

For one of my semesters, we were tasked with creating a 2D scene within Unity. I decided to go with something with a simplistic style and ended up with a floating landscape concept.  Here are some finalised character concepts with a background design I used for reference while making the scene in Unity.

Here is the final image I put in scene with seperate layers in Unity, as well as a video recording of it working in engine. To create the 2D assets and animations,  I used Photoshop.
